Have finished my bracelet this afternoon, the extra beads having arrived from the Bead Merchant this morning - excellent service. I particularly like the way the lime green twinkles through the darker beads which sit on top - nice design. Would make it again, but wouldn't say it's much beyond what I think of as mind-numbing beading - a little on the repetitive side.
A record of my journey towards
"An elegant sufficiency, content,
retirement, rural quiet, friendship, books,
ease and alternate labour, useful life"
Not there yet. Some way to go!
I knit, I sew, I embroider, I paint and draw and occasionally keep a journal. I do funny things with paper, paint and glue, I make books and other stuff. Not much of this is of any use (with the possible exception of the socks I knit) but I find fun in everything I do. I love colour, texture, pattern and want to do it all perfectly - preferably in the next five minutes.
When I'm not making stuff myself, I'm teaching someone else how to do it (or teaching someone else to teach someone else to do it)

Beautiful! I haven't beaded in a while... think you might just have inspired me to break out the beading stash...

Yes, but mind-numbing and repetitive can also be thought of as meditative .... Whatever the process the end result is absolutely lovely!
